Medical Rehabilitation Impact Towards Dynamic Balance in Lateral Ankle Sprain Patients

چکیده
Background: Lateral ankle sprain (LAS) is one of the most prevalent and recurring injuries occurring during physical activities, especially sports. The resulting morbidity forces individuals to limit or change their activities. Medical rehabilitation can prevent recurrent by restoring dynamic balance deficits. Previous studies have shown contradictory results. We investigated effect medical on in patients with LAS.Methods: This was a numerical, analytical study prospective cohort design. Two groups, consisting 13 LAS subjects each, were purposively chosen. Only former participated three sessions program. modified star excursion test performed initially weeks later. Normalized composite scores recorded Microsoft Excel statistically analyzed using SPSS 24 5% significance level. Results: commonly found males (57.69%), an average age 20.62 ± 6.24 years old, dominant foot side (57.69%). Both groups matched for (p = 0.292), sex 0.247), injured 0.193). group presented greater increase normalized score than control (∆ 3.10 4.71 vs. 2.04 7.05, p 0.654).Conclusion: Dynamic increased more group, but difference insignificant. should not be mandatory optional limited resource access. Intrinsic Risk Factors of Lateral Ankle Sprain
CONTEXT Lateral ankle ligamentous sprain (LAS) is one of the most common injuries in recreational activities and competitive sports. Many studies have attempted to determine whether there are certain intrinsic factors that can predict LAS. However, no consensus has been reached on the predictive intrinsic factors. OBJECTIVE To identify the intrinsic risk factors of LAS by meta-analysis from d...
متن کاملFunctional instability following lateral ankle sprain.
Lateral ankle sprain (LAS) is an extremely common athletic injury. Despite extensive clinical and basic science research, the recurrence rate remains high. Functional instability (FI) following LAS is hypothesised to predispose individuals to reinjury because of neuromuscular deficits which result following injury. This paper provides an overview of the potential causes of FI which may manifest...
متن کاملHistory of ankle sprain as a risk factor of future lateral ankle sprain in athletes.
Despite the attention and focus lateral ankle sprains receive in athletic training practice and research, they remain the most common injury in many sports. Whereas the functional limitations and time loss from lateral ankle sprains are apparent, consistently reducing their incidence is less certain. One important step in preventing lateral ankle sprains is identifying their risk factors. Altho...

[Purpose] This study aimed to evaluate the immediate effect of ankle balance taping on balance ability of soccer players with acute ankle sprain. [Subjects and Methods] This study was conducted with 16 subjects who were diagnosed with ankle sprain. A cross-over randomized design was used. Each subject performed three interventions in a random order. Subjects were randomly assigned to an ankle b...
